My life has changed
dramatically in a year
to blissful moments
from a life long fear.

They said 2003
would be my time
to discover and recover
what was truly mine.

I feel the year to come
will change even more
a light to shine
through another open door.

Another year to grow
to learn and live
the tree of life
I want to give.

To help all those
less fortunate than I
to be unselfish
to those that pass by.

To give of myself
expect nothing in return
I know my day'll come
when all the bridges will burn.

A year to forgive
more lessons to learn
smiles to give away
many dimes to turn.

2004 shall be the year
I change more than myself
to put that book of the past
up on the dusty shelf.

The tree of hope and faith
now blossoms in my heart
for you all have shown me
the way to a brand new start.
